Your missionDorel Juvenile is looking for a Senior Manager of Engineering to lead our Child Restraint System category at our Columbus, IN office.
Key responsibilitiesResponsible for aligning with Marketing on a product development roadmap and defining incremental growth. Work closely with Program Management, Marketing and Manufacturing to drive the product development process. Manage the Engineering team deliverables from the product development process to project launch within the scheduled time fame and cost targets. Improve the product development process as a collaborative effort with peers, manage and maintain departmental budget expenses and collaborate with launch teams.
Your profileBS in Mechanical Engineering required, MBA preferred. Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience from a consumer products and/or plastics manufacturing environment. Require 4+ years in a leadership or management role. Experience in consumer-centric product development and hands-on design of consumer products with an emphasis on plastic, electronic, and/or metal components preferred. Ideally prefer some experience in design of seating, interiors, seat belts, airbags, or other product areas where the dynamics of impact are a critical concern. Experience working with both Chinese and domestic manufacturing is desired. Knowledge and understanding of CAD/PDM and its best practices. Experience applying lean principles to the new product development process; have a solution-seeking approach to challenges. Additional experience with intellectual property and communications with attorneys is preferred. Experience with industrial design firms is desired due to the technical and consumer focus of product.
